Win Prizes While Learning About Food Scrap Recycling!
Where do you put your leftover food scraps from dinner? Or how about that greasy pizza box? Put your knowledge to the test at ReadySetRecycle.org and you could win prizes. The Ready Set Recycle website offers prizes for entering the Recycling Rewards Challenge and provides recycling tips and resources for Alameda County residents. It offers information for preventing valuable resources from going into landfill and rewards for testing your food scrap recycling knowledge.
By taking the Recycling Rewards Challenge residents are entered for a chance to win $25 prizes each month. The challenges vary monthly and include answering trivia questions, watching an educational video, and engaging with StopWaste via Facebook and Twitter.
Rewards Challenge winners can choose from a variety of prizes such as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm fresh produce box, bagged compost, gift cards, or a donation to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Visitors to the site can find helpful information including sorting tips and instructions for how to properly dispose of items, from pizza boxes to broken glass to chicken bones.
Tri-City Volunteers recently received a grant from StopWaste, a public agency that engages the support of many local community groups to help encourage recycling in Alameda County.
